Berlin The federal government is postponing the passage of the Growth Opportunities Act. The Handelsblatt learned this from government circles.

The law was supposed to be passed by the Federal Cabinet on Wednesday. However, Family Minister Lisa Paus (Greens) lodged a management reservation against the law on Tuesday. Paus held on to this managerial reservation on Wednesday. The leadership reservation is a veto, a stop sign in the internal procedures of the federal government before a draft law comes into the cabinet, is passed and then gets into the Bundestag.

Paus considers the planned relief for the economy of around six billion euros to be inappropriate as long as Finance Minister Christian Lindner (FDP) is not willing to provide more money for poor children.

More to come.
