Federal Health Minister Karl Lauterbach is in firm hands again. The SPD politician confirmed the “Picture on Sunday“, to be in a relationship with the journalist Elisabeth Niejahr. She is managing director of the “Strengthening Democracy” department at the Hertie School in Berlin. “I am glad that Elisabeth Niejahr is in my life,” said the 60-year-old the newspaper.

Lauterbach and Niejahr have known each other for a long time, according to their own statements, since 2005. They sat together on talk shows, among other things, and met each other professionally from time to time. Lauterbach was also a guest on her podcast “Profession: Politics”. This now seems to be the third great love for Lauterbach. He already has five children with two women, the doctor Angela Spelsberg and the journalist Ulrike Winkelmann, and Niejahr also has a child.
