PF collects R$ 97.5 thousand from Anderson Torres
The Federal Police notified former Minister of Justice Anderson Torres to return the amount equivalent to the wages he received in the four-month period throughout this year that he was imprisoned.
The former Secretary of Public Security for the Federal District will have to return R$87,560, according to information released by journalist Bela Megale’s column in O Globo.
Torres has a period of 15 days to appeal the decision and 30 days to return the amount requested by the PF. The former minister receives around R$ 30,000 a month for his position as a federal delegate.
The Federal Police alleges that the Ministry of Planning foresees the suspension of the salary of civil servants who are preventively arrested. Anderson’s arrest took place after determination of the Federal Supreme Court (STF).
Anderson Torres is being investigated for suspected omission in the face of coup acts that targeted Praça do Três Poderes, in Brasília, on January 8 of this year. At the time, he served as Secretary of Public Security for the Federal District.
The federal delegate was detained at the Military Police Battalion, located in Guará, in Brasília, between January 14 and May 11. Since then, he has been complying with precautionary measures, such as the use of electronic anklets and the ban on owning and carrying weapons.
