Fedriga-Riccardi, important vaccine for the population and healthcare workers – Health and Wellbeing

(ANSA) – TRIESTE, OCTOBER 14 – “With this campaign we want to make people understand the importance of vaccination. Protecting ourselves from Covid and flu means reducing hospitalization levels and protecting citizens’ health. We are talking about safe vaccines tested by millions of cases globally. It is wrong to believe in the degenerations of information. We must have faith in the official scientific studies that have certified the validity and safety of these health measures.” This was supported by the president of Fvg Massimiliano Fedriga who, together with the councilor for Health Riccardo Riccardi, presented the vaccination campaign in Fvg “Let’s protect ourselves“.
Influenza is a significant public health problem especially due to “the possible serious complications in subjects at risk, resulting in excess mortality every year”. It is a frequent cause of absences from school and work, with strong health and economic repercussions on the individual citizen and the community. “The guidelines are very clear – said Fedriga – The anti-flu is recommended for all segments of the population; the anti-Covid for the over 60s and for those who live in fragile conditions”. Fedriga will get vaccinated today and hoped that “participation will be massive; we are making a great effort as a regional health system to guarantee maximum coverage”.
“It is understandable – said Riccardi – that citizens, after the requests for vaccination during the pandemic, now show a certain tiredness and are not inclined towards this choice. For this reason our task is to forcefully push for participation in the campaign, which is crucial for people and for categories at risk”.
“It is essential – added Fedriga – that everyone, especially healthcare professionals, join the campaign and that our community is protected”.
At the conference it was announced that, with the regional health authorities, paths for easier access to vaccinations will be launched for healthcare workers, blood donors and categories at risk. The “Let’s protect ourselves” campaign will involve the operators of the Prevention Departments, those of the hospital medical departments, competent doctors and those of general medicine, paediatricians of free choice and pharmacists.
