The chairman of the board of directors of the Moscow football club Spartak Leonid Fedun told Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin about the club’s continuing losses due to coronavirus restrictions. TASS writes about this with reference to the text of the appeal.

“Unfortunately, the football clubs of the Russian Premier League have suffered the same fate as the majority of business enterprises. For the third season in a row, we are faced with restrictions on the access of fans to the stadiums and, accordingly, we continue to suffer losses, trying to keep funding at the same level, “Fedun wrote.

Revenue of FC Spartak-Moscow JSC in 2020 according to RAS decreased by almost 10% compared to 2019 – to 4.87 billion rubles. Net loss of “Spartak” increased 2.4 times over the past year – from 803.6 million rubles. up to 1.93 billion rubles.

On June 21, FC Spartak, CSKA, Dynamo and Lokomotiv published an appeal to Sobyanin and to the President of the Russian Football Union (RFU) Alexander Dyukov, in which they proposed to admit fans to the stands in excess of the established quota in the coming season (at the moment it is 50% of the total stadium capacity). This would apply to those who have been vaccinated against COVID-19, as well as spectators who have a certificate of the presence of class G antibodies. Clubs have also offered to equip vaccinations at their stadiums.

On June 18, due to the increase in the number of coronavirus cases, Sobyanin limited the number of entertainment events to 1 thousand people and closed the Euro 2020 fan zones.
