Former MK Satya Shafir has been engaged to her partner for the past year and a half, Amit Steva, the son of the second Israeli astronaut to arrive in space, Eitan Steva. In a story she published, Shafir wrote: “The man I love the most suggested to me that we spend all our lives together, I told him yes.”
Stav Shafir, 37, is the chairman of the Green Party and a former Knesset member on her behalf in the Democratic Camp faction. Prior to that, she was a member of the Knesset on behalf of the Labor Party and chair of the Transparency Committee. Prior to that, she was a journalist and social activist. In addition, Shafir was one of the leaders of the social protest that took place in Israel in 2011.
Amit Steva, is the son of Eitan Steva, the second Israeli astronaut to arrive in space and the first on the International Space Station and the first Israeli space tourist. Steva Sr. took off into space in April 2022 as a crew member on the Axiom Mission 1 flight, known in Israel as the “Sky Mission”, for a private space flight, along with three other space tourists.
