The leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, used the ten minutes of his speech to make a call to the rest of the benches appealing to “coherence”, “equality” and made it clear that with him there will be neither amnesty nor referendum – later that they joined together yesterday by raising the price of an investiture of Pedro Sánchez.

Feijóo valued the 172 supports he had in the first round -Vox (33), UPN (1) and CC (1)- although he assumed that he will not be able to win the investiture and recalled that he maintains his principles. He once again offered several state pacts, to make a policy where “partisan and personal interests” are relegated by virtue of the interests of all Spaniards. “Some will reproach me for being the same deputies I had two months ago” and he stressed that he “maintains the principles in which I believe, the commitments I give and the word I have.”
With the investiture failed, he warned that there are only two options left that are not “honorable”: The electoral repetition and a government of lies. “Either the pro-independence parties have lied in this Chamber or the PSOE has lied.”

Appeal to “coherence”
The president of the Popular Party addressed the terrorist group and asked “everyone not to be a turncoat from their voters, from their principles and from the Spanish Transition. He reminded them that “appealing to coherence is not appealing to transfuguism but to equality” so he asked the socialists to abstain. Likewise, he warned that “we are not going to allow the cynicism of asking us what you refuse to do now”, thus making it clear that the Popular Group will not abstain from a possible investiture of Pedro Sánchez to thus “save” him from the independentists. .
“If it is your will to continue forward in this moral and political degradation, it will be your responsibility or irresponsibility, but only yours.” Feijóo once again reminded the socialists that “you did not ask for consent” for a referendum and an amnesty “so there is no consent for it. If you want to do it, achieve it at the polls and let the Spaniards decide calmly and transparently.” .
