Nadia Calviño dismisses Feijóo’s proposal as “pantomime”: “In two years nothing can be built”

The Vice President of the Government and Minister of Economy, Nadia Calviño, has branded as “pantomime” the proposal launched on Wednesday by the leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, to the PSOE to allow him to govern for two years and sign six State pacts on the economy , territorial organization and institutional regeneration. “It seems to me that it was all a pantomime, nothing can be built in two years,” she said in an interview on Cadena SER.

For Calviño, “it is not serious” that one party proposes to another to repeal what the latter has done in the previous legislature. “We are not here to waste time”, he has settled, advocating to have a government that “culminates” the reforms initiated in the previous legislature as soon as possible.

Regarding the proposal for a “reinterpretation” of the Constitution made by the lehendakari, Íñigo Urkullu, he has declined to pronounce specifically on it, but has affirmed that “there is always capacity to improve” the Spanish territorial system and “we must continue advancing to improve the articulation of this country”.
