Munnar: Chennai Rayapuram Rehana was arrested by 47 special forces police who stole four and a half pounds of gold jewelery from a jewelery shop while on a tourist trip to Munnar.

He said that he would give the rest of the money as a garland and buy jewellery.

When closing the shop for the night, the staff were shocked to find two chains of four and a half pounds missing. When the surveillance camera was scrutinized, it was recorded that Rehana had stolen the jewellery. The owner lodged a complaint with the Munnar police.

DSP A special team headed by Manoj, Inspector Manesh K. Paulus, SIs Shakul Hameed Manian, Venugopal Tony Sacco Ranjani investigated. A review of the surveillance cameras installed in the shops revealed that Rehana had boarded a van. On July 22, Special Police rushed to Chennai as it was known that the van was from Chennai.

According to the information provided by the van driver, Rehana, who lived in an apartment in Rayapuram, was arrested and seized the jewelery with the help of the Rayapuram police. He was brought to Munnar at 4:00 pm yesterday.
