Fendt Arrives in Argentina: German Engineering Targets High-Tech Agricultural Market
Argentina is poised to become a key market for high-precision agricultural machinery as Fendt, the flagship brand of the AGCO group, formally launches operations within the country. The move comes as the Argentine agricultural sector experiences a modest recovery and seeks solutions to boost efficiency and connectivity.
Fendt is widely regarded as a premium brand – often described as the “Rolls-Royce” of agricultural equipment – due to its advanced technology and focus on maximizing productivity. The company’s arrival signals a new era of competition and innovation within the local agricultural machinery industry.
Latin American Expansion Fuels Argentine Entry
The launch in Argentina is a strategic step in AGCO’s broader expansion plan across Latin America, which began in Brazil in 2019 and extended to Paraguay. “Today we are launching Fendt in Argentina, a brand with 95 years of history, which has been expanding since 2019,” explained a senior sales manager. “This growth will continue until 2030, with the objective of multiplying our sales in the region by eight.”
According to a company release, Argentina was identified as a crucial market for Fendt’s regional growth strategy. “Argentina is a key market… We arrive with the conviction of being close to the producer, offering solutions that combine innovation, service and profitability,” stated a regional president of Fendt and Valtra.
Comprehensive Product Portfolio & Initial Dealership Network
Fendt’s initial product offering in Argentina will encompass a full range of agricultural equipment, including tractors, combines, and sprayers, all built to the German firm’s exacting standards. In its first year of operations, beginning in 2026, the brand will operate through three official dealerships: Balcarce Machineries (serving Balcarce and Tres Arroyos in Buenos Aires province), DeltaAgro (based in Armstrong, Santa Fe), and Natural Argentina (in Villa Mercedes, San Luis). The network is slated for gradual expansion to cover the country’s primary agricultural regions.
“Starting in January, the producer will be able to start buying our products,” a company official noted, emphasizing a phased rollout to ensure robust support and service.
High-Tech Equipment for Enhanced Efficiency
Fendt is introducing four core product lines to the Argentine market. These include the Fendt 728 Vario Gen7 and Fendt 900 Vario Gen7 tractors, the Fendt IDEAL combine harvesters, and the Fendt Rogator 934H sprayer.
The Fendt 728 and 900 Vario Gen7 tractors feature VarioDrive transmissions, fuel-efficient AGCO Power and MAN engines, and the integrated FendtONE digital platform for streamlined operations and remote management. The 900 series, boasting power outputs between 355 and 415 HP, is considered a leader in its segment globally.
The Fendt IDEAL combine harvesters – available in 7, 8, and 9 models – are designed for high processing capacity, fuel economy, and grain quality. The company claims these machines offer up to 15% greater operating efficiency, 20% fuel savings, and 30% reduced grain loss compared to competitors. With a grain tank capacity of 17,100 liters, the IDEAL ranks among the largest combines worldwide.
The Fendt Rogator 934H sprayer incorporates adjustable clearance up to 1.93 meters, a LiquidLogic recirculation system, and individual electronic peak control (PWM) for precise application, reduced input costs, and minimized waste.
After-Sales Support & Financing Options
A key differentiator for Fendt in the Argentine market will be its commitment to after-sales service and customer support. The company is implementing its Fendt Gold Star program, offering a three-year factory warranty – the longest available in the local agricultural machinery sector.
“We are going to have a three-year warranty system called Gold Star. It is something innovative for the Argentine market, and speaks of the confidence we have in our products,” a company representative stated. This will be complemented by an Integrated Solutions Center (CSI) providing technical advice, telemetry monitoring, training, and input optimization.
Recognizing the financial realities of Argentine producers, Fendt plans to offer long-term financing options. With tractor prices around $450,000 and combines around $900,000, the company anticipates financing terms of five to seven years, working with both its own finance company and public and private banks.
Global Standards, Local Adaptation
Fendt emphasizes that the equipment offered in Argentina meets the same global standards as those sold in Europe and the United States. “They are the same teams that we have here in Germany, in Brazil and in Paraguay,” one executive explained. “The technology we develop in the regions must benefit all producers.” Field tests conducted in Argentina were crucial in adapting the equipment to local conditions, ensuring optimal performance.
Within the broader AGCO Group, Fendt will occupy a distinct, high-end segment, complementing the existing Valtra product line while Massey Ferguson continues to offer its full portfolio.
A Focus on Technology and Sustainability
Fendt’s arrival aligns with a growing trend of technological investment in Argentine agriculture, as producers seek more efficient equipment with lower operating costs. The brand is targeting technically sophisticated producers and contractors who prioritize innovation, efficiency, and resource conservation.
“We are calling on clients who require technology and innovation,” a company spokesperson summarized. “Fendt aspires to that demanding, technological client who seeks efficiency, consumption savings and grain care.”
With this launch, Fendt aims to combine German engineering with Argentine agricultural expertise, promising a significant impact on the country’s agricultural machinery landscape.
