Fernanda Arrigoni wins the Song Festival

‘Croda i Föi’ sweeps the third Ticino and Lombardy dialect song festival held on Sunday 25 August at the ex Asilo Riva di Vacallo park. The text written by Giuseppe Arrigoni and performed by Fernanda Arrigoni, born in Balerno and adopted by Vacallese, won over the jury unanimously: as the event organizer explains in a press release, “the masterful interpretation certainly had an influence, which offered the public the inevitable mix between her professional experience as a singer and the feeling of love in performing in music a text written by her father”. On the podium with her were Ernesto Marcato from Milan who sang ‘Mariana’: “a song written and set to music by the performer himself who wanted to use a piano-only base, with a musicality and rhythm typical of the unfortunately forgotten vaudeville”. Third place went to Giorgio Angelo Cazzola, aka ‘Tabaccobruciato’: the singer-songwriter from Oltrepò Pavese proposed ‘Taca Banda’.

During the evening, animated by several volunteers who cooked the risotto offered by the Municipality, the opening of registrations for 2025 was announced. Info: [email protected].
