Fernando Villavicencio’s security chief said they had few resources to protect the then presidential candidate. In fact, they gave him the long weapons he had requested, one day after Villavicencio was killed.
“Nobody took me seriously. I asked, I begged, but nobody paid attention to me,” said Cristian David C., head of Fernando Villavicencio’s security detail, recounting how he asked his superiors for reinforcements to protect the life of the then presidential candidate.
