The inauguration was carried out by the Evangelical Lutheran Bishop Michael Chalupka. Numerous guests from politics, church and ecumenism also came, including the Burgenland Governor Hans Peter Doskozil, the President of the State Parliament Verena Dunst and the Roman Catholic Vicar General Michael Wüger, who represented the sick diocesan Bishop Aegidius Zsifkovics.

Jonischkeit was born in Innsbruck in 1973. After studying theology, he completed a diaconal internship in Colombia. Most recently he was pastor in Kufstein. At the beginning of March he was elected superintendent. In this position he succeeds Manfred Koch, who has retired. Around 31,000 Evangelicals live in 29 parishes in Burgenland. At a little over ten percent, the proportion of Protestants in the total population is highest in Burgenland.
