Fez: Mr. Sadiki launches construction work on the Wholesale Fish Market worth 50 MDH

In a statement to the press on this occasion, indicated that the creation of the Fez wholesale fish market, which is located in the Bensouda industrial district, is part of the Halieutis strategy which aims to strengthen the network wholesale fish markets across the Kingdom.

Mr. Sadiki, who was accompanied by the wali of the Fez-Meknes region, governor of the Fez prefecture, Mr. Said Zniber, and the president of the Fez-Meknes Regional Council, Mr. Abdelouahed El Ansari, described this project as “very important” for the region.

This new structure will be built on a total surface area of ​​2 hectares, including nearly 3,800 m² covered. It will have a display and sales area for fishing products, identification and shipping airlocks, cold installations, a cold room, socio-collective premises, a weighbridge, administrative and technical premises and parking lots and outdoor facilities.

This project aims to contribute to the establishment of a modern distribution network, guaranteeing the best conditions of product quality, hygiene and safety.

It will provide the Fez metropolitan area with modern infrastructure aimed at ensuring permanent availability of fish and increasing fish consumption in the region through an appropriate distribution platform, meeting quality standards.

The Fez Wholesale Fish Market is the result of a partnership between the Ministry of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development and Water and Forests, the Regional Council of Fez-Meknes, the Municipal Council of Fez and the National Fisheries Office.
