FGE obtains conviction for attempted rape to the detriment of an Ecuadorian woman

The State Attorney General’s Office (FGE), through the Immigrants Prosecutor’s Office, obtained from the Court, in first instance, a conviction of three years and six months in prison against a male person, of Salvadoran nationality, for his criminal responsibility in the crime of attempted rape to the detriment of a woman with a protected identity, of Ecuadorian nationality, events that occurred in the municipality of Tapachula.
The Immigration Prosecutor’s Office reported that in the last few hours, through an abbreviated procedure, the Control Judge, Region Two, of Tapachula, Chiapas, issued a sentence of three years and six months in prison, for the crime of Rape, to a degree attempt, against Nicolás “N”.
According to the investigation folder, on January 27 of this year, in the municipality of Tapachula, the defendant today tried to abuse the sexual security of the victim.
The State Attorney General’s Office endorses its firm commitment to the people of Chiapas to guarantee the rule of law and reiterates that no criminal conduct will go unpunished.
