Fiat dominates the market, with a 23% market share in September!

Fiat, leader of the national market since January 2021, once again achieved first place in September. With a market share of 23%, this is the third month in the year in which the brand has reached or exceeded this percentage.

Furthermore, more than 43,224 units of the brand were registered, which represents an advantage of 13,404 vehicles compared to second place. With this performance, Fiat placed three models among the ten best-selling models in the country.

As has become common, the most sold model in Brazil was the Fiat Strada, with 12,834 registered units and a market share of 7%. This percentage is the highest recorded since September of last year. In seventh and eighth position, the brand also secured a double of hatches: Mobi, with 6,016 registrations, and Argo, with 5,938. Furthermore, considering sports models, Fiat stood out with the Pulse Abarth, which led registrations in September with an increase of 26% compared to second place.

A Fiat also celebrated leadership in different segments during the month of September. In the light commercial segment, the brand achieved a market share of 47%, the best result of the year so far. Among vans, Fiat maintained the first position with sales of 2,889 units and an incredible 52.2% share of the segment. Furthermore, the brand continues to increase its share among pickup trucks, with the Strada and Toro duo totaling 16,877 units and a market share of 46.2%. In the hatch segment, Fiat also stood out, with 11,959 sales and a share of 23.4%.

Fiat’s leadership also extends to retail, where the brand achieved a market share of 16.7% and more than 14,558 registered units. Furthermore, Fiat secured the first position in direct sales, with a market share of 28.4% and 28,666 units registered. These results represent a significant advantage of 9,406 units over the closest competitor.

Herlander Zola, senior vice-president of Fiat and Abarth in South America, celebrated the results achieved by the brand in September: “For the second consecutive month, we reached an important percentage of 23% market share, which means that almost 1 every 4 vehicles sold in Brazil are from Fiat. This is reflected in the month’s excellent results, with leadership in both retail and direct sales, as well as in the hatchback, pickup truck and van segments. And the good news doesn’t stop there, as we will have the new Abarth Fastback arriving in October to add even more venom to our portfolio in Brazil.”

In 2023, Fiat maintains its leadership in the market, with a market share of 22.1% and more than 339,916 registered units. This represents an advantage of almost 100 thousand units over second place. Compared to the same period last year, vehicle sales grew 9.7%, while Fiat recorded growth of 11%, remaining above the market average.

Furthermore, Fiat consolidated its leadership in several segments throughout the year. In the hatch segment, 102,634 units were sold, with a share of 23.7%. Among vans, 17,079 units were registered, reaching a market share of 41.8%. In the pickup truck segment, Fiat recorded the sale of 124,738 units and a share of 43.5%.

The Fiat Strada continues to be the best-selling model of the year, with 86,635 units registered so far in 2023. The Mobi rose to sixth position, being the sixth best-selling car of the year with 51,633 units. The Argo remained in eighth place, with 50,909 units sold.

With these positive results, Fiat continues to consolidate its prominent position in the Brazilian market and promises to continue surprising with new features, such as the arrival of the new Fastback Abarth next month.
