Fiery Death Video: Brazilian Woman Sets Husband Ablaze, Runs Around Like Human Torch
A horrific act of domestic violence in Brazil has left a man dead after his wife doused him in a flammable liquid and set him on fire. The shocking incident, which was captured on surveillance video at a store in Rio de Janeiro, has sent shockwaves through the community.
The video shows Ana Maria Paixao walking into a stock room holding a bottle of fluid as she approaches her husband, Andre Chapeta, who is sitting at a table. She then proceeds to douse him with the liquid and uses a lighter to set him ablaze, causing him to jump up and dash out of the room. Chapeta runs out to the street, where he runs around like a human torch before collapsing to the ground.
Despite being brought to a local hospital and treated for severe burns over 92 percent of his body, Chapeta tragically succumbed to his injuries and passed away on Friday.
Paixao was taken into police custody on Thursday, but she was later released on a technicality after a judge failed to sign the arrest warrant. Reports from Brazilian news outlet G1 suggest that Paixao’s actions may have been motivated by jealousy.
The disturbing video has sparked outrage and calls for justice for Chapeta. The community is mourning the loss of a man whose life was tragically cut short in a horrific act of violence. The authorities are now faced with the difficult task of holding Paixao accountable for her actions and ensuring that justice is served.
