The partial setback suffered this Thursday by UEFA before the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) “does not change anything” in the face of the threat of a private football Super League, FIFA president Gianni Infantino estimated this Thursday.

“Historically, we have always organized the best competitions in the world and this will continue to be the case in the future”said the world football boss in a message published on the social network Instagram.

A little earlier, his UEFA counterpart Aleksander Ceferin had minimized the impact of the European justice ruling, remembering that it refers to points of the 2021 regulations on its authorization system for private competitions which were already renovated a year later.

Infantino, however, did not venture into the legal field, only implying that the competitions of official bodies are in themselves attractive enough to resist any threat of secession.

FIFA will continue along this path, as always, in close cooperation with our member associations, with the confederations and all active football parties, for the exclusive benefit of our sport. All together! “He concluded.
