Argentina, the world champion and recently crowned Copa America champion, maintained its lead in the world football rankings, while Morocco maintained its lead in the Arab world despite its decline in the rankings issued by the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) on Thursday.

Morocco remained in the lead but dropped two places to fourteenth, ahead of Qatar, which advanced one place to 34th, and Egypt, which maintained 36th place.

Tunisia remained (41) and Algeria dropped two places (46), ahead of Iraq (55), Saudi Arabia (56), Jordan (68), the Emirates (69), the Sultanate of Oman (76), Bahrain (80), Syria (93), Palestine (96) and Lebanon (116).

Internationally, Argentina strengthened its lead by retaining the continental championship title after defeating Colombia 1-0 after extra time, while the latter advanced to ninth place.

France maintained second place despite losing to Spain 1-2 in the semi-finals, on the latter’s way to consecrating a record fourth continental title in its history at the expense of England 2-1, advancing to third place ahead of the “Three Lions” team, which in turn advanced to fourth place.

Brazil dropped to fifth place after their modest Copa America campaign, where they were eliminated in the quarter-finals by Uruguay (0-1).

The Turkish national team rose 16 places at once, after reflecting an honorable image in the European Cup by reaching the quarter-finals, to occupy the 26th place, while its Venezuelan counterpart, which also reached the quarter-finals of the Copa America, advanced to the 37th place.
