/ FIFA President Gianni Infantino revealed on Sunday the new FIFA Club World Cup, which is planned to be held in 2025, confirming that it will include 32 teams and will be held from June 15 to July 13, while a new continental club championship will be held annually starting next year.

“The tournament will feature all the current champions of the continental club confederations, and will conclude with a final at a neutral venue between the winner of the Champions League and the winner of the continental qualifiers between clubs from other continental confederations,” FIFA President Infantino said.

The current tournament format sees the European and South American champions participate from the semi-finals, while the champions of the other continental confederations start from the rounds preceding the semi-finals.

FIFA announced the expansion of the Club World Cup earlier this year, and voted unanimously to select the United States to host the first edition of the tournament.

The FIFA Council met in the Saudi city of Jeddah to approve the dates for the Club World Cup, and confirmed that the new club tournament called the Confederations Cup will bring together the winner of the European Champions League with a team that will come through a play-off round between teams from several continents.
