New Delhi: FIFA is preparing a special series on Indian football legend Sunil Chhetri. Chhetri will be featured in a series that will feature prominent players from around the world.
According to sources, parts of the series will be shot in Bangalore, where the actor lives, and in Delhi, where he spent his childhood. “Chhetri is currently considered by FIFA to be the best choice to tell the world about Indian football,” she added.
Chhetri, who has played 129 matches for India, is the fifth highest goalscorer in the world with 84 goals. Currently, only superstars Cristiano Ronaldo (117) and Lionel Messi (86) are ahead of Chhetri. At the age of 37, Chhetri is still on the wings of Indian football. Chhetri’s strength is that the Blue Jackets recently qualified for the second consecutive Asian Cup.
