The Disciplinary Committee of the International Football Federation (FIFA) will appoint an expert on integrity to investigate possible violations during the first match of the group stage of the Olympic football tournament between the national teams of Argentina and Morocco. This was reported by the FIFA press service, Day.Az reports with reference to TASS.

The match between the teams was interrupted in the 16th minute of added time to the second half with the score 2:2. After the second goal by the Argentina team, fans of the Moroccan team ran onto the field and threw firecrackers at the Argentine footballers. Two hours later, the match was finished in empty stands, the second goal of the Argentines was cancelled due to offside. The Moroccan team won with a score of 2:1.

It is reported that further information on the results of the investigation will be provided to FIFA in due course.

Argentina and Morocco are in Group B along with Iraq and Ukraine. The Olympic football tournament runs from July 24 to August 10 in seven cities in France.
