Tehran: The Iranian government has announced the release of 700 prisoners to celebrate Qatar’s FIFA World Cup victory over Wales.

The FIFA World Cup football tournament is underway in Gandahar. Iran lost their first match against England 6-2. Iran beat Wales 2-0 in last Friday’s match. This victory of Iran is seen as a historic victory in the World Cup. The government of Iran has announced various announcements to celebrate this victory.

In that regard, Iran’s Department of Justice has now issued a statement. In it, “709 prisoners are being released from various prisons of this country. “Some of them were arrested during the recent protest,” it said.

Meanwhile, Iran’s famous actresses Henkameh Ghasiani and Qadayoun, who have expressed their support for the anti-hijab movement, have been released on bail.

Protests against the hijab have intensified in Iran following Masha Amini’s death. Iran’s justice ministry says more than 2,000 people have been arrested since the protests began. But the United Nations Human Rights Organization reports that 14,000 people have been arrested in recent protests in Iran.
