There will certainly be emotion this Friday evening in Charléty during Paris FC – Annecy for the last day of L2. A page in the recent history of the club will indeed turn. Club legend Vincent Demarconnay, 40, will play the last game of his career. He formalized his decision on Thursday. “It’s been a while since I made this choice in my head,” he explains on the club’s website. At the start of the season, I already knew that it would be my last season. I have pushed back the deadline every year. This season has been more difficult than the others. We never knew how to find the right carburation, to be regular. Making so much effort to remain competitive at 40 requires a lot of investment. I resumed my studies with work at home, there are my two children. It’s been a busy year for me. It made sense to stop now. »

Arriving at Paris FC in 2008, Vincent Demarconnay will play his 372nd match against Annecy, a club record. “My teammates tell me Vince your record will never be broken… I hope it will be possible. It would make sense if it’s a youngster from the club who beats him in a few years. I am proud to have put my name next to the history of the club. It’s gratifying…”

At Paris FC, he will have known everything, serious injuries, seasons as an understudy before settling permanently as a starter during the 2016-2017 season. In 2019, he was voted best L2 goalkeeper at the UNFP trophies. “Fifteen years of life for a club is rare… So many things have happened… A few years back, I would never have imagined playing for so long and at this level. I am proud to have participated in the development and construction of Paris FC. »

However, his story with the club is not over. A conversion now awaits him. “We are going to discuss with President Pierre Ferracci to see how I could be useful. My little regret is not having managed to move up to L1 with Paris FC. If I can take part in it in another role, it would mean a lot to me. »
