Thiruvananthapuram: Ajesh Lalu, an environmental activist from Neyyattinkara, is a snake catcher licensed by the forest department. Although Ajesh has caught several snakes and handed them over to the forest department, this is the first time he has seen 50 snake cubs together. Fifty eggs were found in Ajesh’s house after he was caught a week ago by a cobra. Ajesh Moorkhan caught the snake near the Undankotte pond in Neyyattinkara. When the children saw the snake while they were playing, the locals called Ajesh and informed him. Ajesh came and caught the snake and took it home.
Ajesh saw not only the snake near the pond. Fifty eggs found next to the snake were safely brought home. The mother snake was immediately handed over to the forest department. And kept snake eggs. The snake eggs were kept in front of the house using special plastic sheets and sacks provided by the forest department.
