The court accepted the application for provisional seizure of bonds against Dougie Bus filed by Attract, the agency of the group ‘PPP TFT’.

On the 7th, Attract announced, “The application for provisional seizure of deposit claims for part of the claim for damages due to Dougie Bus’ illegal activities filed with the Seoul Central District Court through our litigation representative, Seojeong Law Firm, was decided on the 24th of last month.”

Previously, on September 27th of last year, Attract filed a lawsuit on the merits of Ahn Seong-il, CEO of The Gibus, who was in charge of Fifty Fifty‘s music producer, and its executives and employees, seeking compensation for damages due to illegal acts and default. This application for provisional seizure of deposit claims is intended to preserve the right to claim damages worth 1 billion won.

At the time, Attract announced that it only requested a partial amount of damages and that it would expand the amount of damages claimed further during the later trial.

Seojeong Law Firm, Attract’s litigation representative, said, “Even if Attract wins the lawsuit on the merits, there is a high risk that execution will be impossible or significantly difficult, so we judged it necessary to preserve it through provisional seizure of the bond.”

Fifty Fifty ranked 100th on the US Billboard main single chart ‘Hot 100’ 130 days after their debut with the title song ‘Cupid’ of their first single ‘The Beginning: Cupid’ released on February 24th last year. In particular, they achieved the achievement of setting the record for the longest entry in the history of a K-pop girl group, being on the chart for 25 weeks.

However, the team’s activities were halted after four members of Fifty Fifty filed a request to suspend their exclusive contract with Attract. However, the court did not accept this on appeal. Among the four members, Kina was the only one to submit a withdrawal of appeal to the court just before the appeal decision and return to Attract.

After the appeal court ruling, Attract notified Saena, Sio, and Aran of the termination of their exclusive contracts. Attract is selecting new members for Fifty Fifty. They will form a new team with Kina at the center and make a comeback around June or July.

In this process, Jeon Hong-jun, CEO of Attract, is taking legal action against Dougie Bus, claiming that it is the background to this dispute.
