For the first time, the DPS leader will not be the leader in Kardzhali – Delyan Peevski chose to be first in Blagoevgrad, where he is traditionally #1, and Haskovo.
“DPS – New Beginning” registered their lists across the country on Sunday at noon. A day earlier, GERB announced the names of its leaders, the new left alliance around the BSP did so on Friday. “Revival” is also ready, so only “Change” is not finished yet. After the return of Kiril Petkov from the USA on Sunday, the assets of PP were collected, and on Monday the names must be finally confirmed with the partners from DB.
An interesting power struggle is emerging on October 27 in the Sofia region, after the former interior minister Kalin Stoyanov accepted to be among the leading names of the formation led by Peevski. He will be first on the list of “DPS – New Beginning” there, and for GERB, traditionally, for the last series of early elections in the region, Mladen Marinov, interior minister in the “Borisov 3” cabinet, leads.
After the well-thought-out and consistently conducted campaign for my political removal from the Ministry of Internal Affairs ended, two paths appeared before me – to accept the political defeat or to enter into battle to prove the rightness of my actions. I chose the second. I took seriously the invitation sent by Mr. Delyan Peevski to participate in the upcoming parliamentary elections, explained Stoyanov. He made it clear that he was entering politics even after Rumen Radev’s refusal to sign the decree for the Kozhareva cabinet because of his participation in it. Then came the invitation from Peevski.
The ex-minister enters as a civil quota
Stoyanov personally went with the messengers to register the list in the RIC. In addition to being first in Sofia region, it will be second in Brugas, where the mayor of Rouen, Ismail Osman, is the leader.
The leader Peevski will face in Blagoevgrad against the former chairman of the National Assembly and candidate for prime minister in the project cabinet of GERB Rosen Zhelyazkov. Kiril Dobrev returns there for the BSP.
The first place in Kardzhali is now entrusted to the mayor of the city, Erol Myumyun.
At the vote in June, Peevski was the first there, he even symbolically chose to cast the ballot in a local section as well. Second and third after Muyun in Kardzhali are also mayors – Nejmi Ali of Jebel and Ayjan Ahmed of Chernoochene.
Two lists will be led by veteran MPs and prominent figures of the DPS –
Yordan Tsonev (Varna and Veliko Tarnovo), Dimitar Avramov (Pleven and Montana), Atidje Aliyeva-Veli (Lovech and Ruse), Iskra Mihailova (Pazardzhik and Sofia), Khalil Letifov (Smolyan and Stara Zagora) and Hamid Hamid (Silistra and Shumen) ). Mihailova enters the battle in the so-called leadership’s 25th MIR in the capital, where parties traditionally send their chairman.
The Alliance for Rights and Freedoms, with which the loyalists of Ahmed Dogan and Jevdet Chakarov will appear, has not yet announced its leaders, but even there the current deputies (now independent) are expected to occupy leading positions in two regions. For the first time, the leaders of the youth organization Ibraim Zaidenov and Tanzer Yuseinov will probably be the leaders. The intrigue is where Dogan himself will lead. The Razgrad organization announced that either he or Chakarov will lead the list.
The deadline for registration in the RICs expires on Tuesday.
