As Al Jazeera writes, the conflict began when the Rapid Response Force accused the regular army of Sudan of a “brutal attack”. The publication writes that the latter surrounded one of its bases and opened fire with heavy weapons.
It is specified that it is a “large-scale attack” with the use of various types of weapons.
The Sudanese army accuses the SRF of “attacking military positions”. The publication writes that the Rapid Response Forces tried to storm the headquarters of the Main Command.
“Fighters of the Rapid Response Force attacked several army camps in Khartoum and other areas of Sudan. Clashes are ongoing and the army is fulfilling its duty to protect the country,” said Brigadier General Nabil Abdallah.
Meanwhile, Reuters reports from the scene? that the Rapid Response Force claimed control of Khartoum International Airport. Before that, it was reported that the airport of Sudan has stopped receiving and releasing planes, and there are ongoing shootings in various areas of the capital.
