The delivery of these buses, the ceremony of which took place in the presence of the governor of the province, Mohamed Darham, members of the Provincial Committee for Human Development (CPDH), elected officials and other civil and military figures, is part of the programs “Catching up on deficits in infrastructure and basic social services” and “Boosting the human capital of rising generations”.
These school transport buses, acquired for a budget of more than 1.8 million dirhams (MDH) as part of the implementation of phase III of the INDH, will benefit students enrolled in the douars in the municipalities of Bni Guil, Ain chair, Bouanane and Maatarka, with the aim of reducing the school dropout rate in rural areas.
Furthermore, the governor of the province launched the construction work of 48 preschool units in the territorial municipalities under the province, which required an investment of around 10.7 MDH from the INDH.
In a statement to M24, the continuous news television channel of MAP, the head of the social action division (DAS) at the prefecture of the province of Figuig, Driss Moussi indicated that the creation of these units is part of the 2023 action plan, in particular the axis of the generalization of preschool, stating that 81 preschool units have been created to date, thus offering their services to children aged between 4 and 6 years old.
Regarding school buses, Mr. Moussi reported 28 vehicles that were handed over to the provincial level as part of phase III of the INDH, noting that this initiative aims to contribute to improving the school enrollment indicator in the province, as well as reducing school dropout in rural areas.
