With an envelope of approximately 10 billion dirhams (MMDH), this program was set up by the government in application of the high royal directives, in support of farmers, to reduce the impact of drought and economic effects. It aims to protect livestock, protect plant capital and maintain balances in rural areas.
In the commune of Bni Guil, the minister, accompanied by the governor of the province of Figuig, Mohamed Darham and the president of the provincial council, Hussein Saadaoui, learned about the progress of the regional and provincial program to reduce the impact of the rainfall deficit for the year 2023 and kicked off the operation of distributing subsidized barley at the Bouarfa relay center.
At the regional level, for 2023, nearly 1.2 million quintals of subsidized barley and 45,200 quintals of compound feed have been allocated for the benefit of breeders.
The regional programme has six axes, covering the distribution of subsidised barley and subsidised compound feed, animal health, livestock watering, the development of small and medium irrigated areas and the development of rangelands.
In the same commune, Mr. Sadiki inquired about the progress of the agricultural plan of the Generation Green strategy at the level of the province of Figuig.
This plan is made up of several programs and projects that take into account the constraints and potential of the province, focusing on the sustainability of the dynamics of agricultural development, giving priority to the human element, in particular through the support and guidance of young people and agricultural organizations.
In line with the 8 axes of the Generation Green strategy, the provincial agricultural plan provides for social coverage for 100% of farmers and agricultural insurance for 4,800 ha by 2030. It should enable the emergence of a new generation of young agricultural entrepreneurs, in particular through the creation of 153 cooperatives and service companies for the benefit of 970 young beneficiaries with an investment of 101 million dirhams, the training of 600 young graduates of the Figuig agricultural training center and the support of 360 agricultural cooperatives.
It will also enable the development of plant and animal agricultural production sectors, the rehabilitation of a livestock market, the rehabilitation and modernization of a slaughterhouse, the irrigation of 2,350 ha by solar energy and the implementation of a rangeland development program for an investment of 101 million dirhams.
The minister also learned about the programme for the development of courses in the municipalities of the province of Figuig for the period 2020-2030.
With a total cost of 101 million dirhams, it will benefit 412 professional organizations in the province of Figuig. It involves the rehabilitation of reserves over an area of 250,000 ha, the planting of fodder shrubs over an area of 8,154 ha, the development and equipment of 18 water points, the construction of 28 km of agricultural tracks and the distribution of 24 towed tanks.
On this occasion, the Minister gave the go-ahead for the creation and equipment of the Hassi Laaricha water point equipped with a solar pumping system. With an investment of 1.2 million Dirhams, this water point will benefit 50 breeders in the Commune of Beni Guil.
Mr. Saidiki also chaired the signing of a partnership agreement between the Ministry of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development and Water and Forests, the province of Figuig and the municipal council of Beni Guil for the construction and equipment of a modern red meat slaughterhouse in Bouarfa.
The objective of the project is to promote and modernize the livestock sector using an integrated approach, improve hygiene and sanitary conditions for slaughtering in order to maintain product quality, promote red meat products and market them at provincial, regional and national levels, improve the income of livestock farmers and create jobs, while respecting environmental standards.
