The Paratus group unveiled a new data center in Angola, aiming to address the burgeoning internet user base in the country.
During the 39th Luanda International Fair (FILDA), Francisco Pinto Leite, General Director of Internet Technologies Angola, made the announcement. This marks the third data center for the group.
According to Pinto Leite, the new facility will enhance redundancy and address the burgeoning demand for internet services. He further highlighted the cost savings associated with the data center, as a significant portion of online content currently resides outside Angola.
The executive also emphasized the need to foster a robust digital ecosystem in Angola to ensure data security and bolster digital sovereignty. He lauded the government’s initiative in securing the root of the AO domain for the country.
The event, themed “Food security and international partnership: The duality of economic diversification,” primarily showcases Angola’s agricultural potential and production capabilities. The fair features both local and international exhibitors.
The 39th FILDA covers an area of 144 square meters, with 42,000 square meters dedicated to exhibitions. The business exchange, featuring over 1,350 exhibitors from the previous edition, serves as a prime platform for promoting national development, business opportunities, and job creation.
