Ali-Sattar Guliyev’s full-length feature film “When the Stadiums Are Silent” about the life, football career and coaching activities at the Karabakh club of Gurban Gurbanov will be presented in the out-of-competition program “Russia – Islamic World” within the framework of the XX Kazan International Film Festival “Altyn Minbar”, Day.Az reports. The film was shot in 2023 with the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan.

This is a film about the career of the best scorer in the history of the Azerbaijani national football team and the country’s most titled coach, Gurban Gurbanov.

The Kazan International Film Festival “Altyn Minbar” has been held in the capital of Tatarstan since 2005 under the motto “Through the Dialogue of Cultures – to the Culture of Dialogue”. The main goal is to exchange experiences of cultural and artistic figures from Russia, near and far abroad, to show the creative achievements of filmmakers who create films that popularize universal spiritual, moral and cultural values. The festival program selects the best films of Russian and world cinema that call for goodness, peace and justice regardless of the author’s religion. This year the festival will be held from September 6 to 11.
