Film critic Carlos Pumares dies at age 80. This has been reported by his family through the presenter’s X (formerly Twitter) account.
«May the greatest of the greats of cinema in Spain rest in peace. It always was and from today it will be stardust», reads the message on the social network.
Born in Portugalete, Vizcaya, the Spanish journalist died this Thursday in Madrid. He became famous in the 80s thanks to his radio show ‘Dust of Stars’. He also had a degree in Physical Sciences and was a film advisor for the RTVE program ‘La Clave’.
Pumares was awarded the honorary medal of the Círculo de Escritores Cinematográficos in 2020. In addition, he received the Cinemasmusic award the same year.
