the documentary Listen: The Earth Was Tornby Cassandra Mello and Fred Rahal Mauro, will be available at plataforma Spcine Play for 48 hours – from 18h this Tuesday (06/06) until 6 pm on Thursday (06/08), during mobilizations across the country for #MarcoTemporalNo.
The film, which is part of the 12th Ecospeaker Film Festival, proposes an approximation of the thought of three indigenous peoples – Yanomami, Munduruku and Mebêngôkre (Kayapó). Pressured by the destruction caused by mining, they formed an unprecedented and historic alliance in defense and maintenance of their physical and subjective territories.
In addition to the destruction caused by mining, this is a film about resistance, resilience and the impossibility of separating indigenous existence from their territory.
In Brasilia, the Articulation of the Indigenous Peoples of Brazil (Apib) hopes to bring together more than two thousand people to follow the judgment of the Temporal Framework, which should take place at the Federal Supreme Court (STF) on June 7 and may decide the future of the demarcation of Indigenous Lands in the country.
The Marco Temporal thesis is defended by ruralists and provides that indigenous peoples would only have the right to the lands where they were physically located until October 5, 1988, the date of promulgation of the Constitution.
