CHENNAI: A man was arrested on Sunday after the body of businessman and film industry financier Bhaskaran was found in a plastic bag. Virugampakkam police informed that Ganesan, who was delivering women to Bhaskaran, was arrested.

On Saturday morning, the municipal employees who came for cleaning work found the plastic bag in Chinmayanagar along the Koovam river. When they realized that there was a dead body inside, they informed the police. The body was found with its legs tied and a cloth stuffed in its mouth. The deceased was identified as Bhaskaran, a businessman and moneylender from Chennai, during the investigation conducted by Virugambakkam police.

According to the police, Bhaskaran went to meet Ganesan on Friday evening. Ganesan, a link in the women trafficking gang, had been supplying women to Bhaskaran for two years. On Friday night, there was a fight between the two at Ganesan’s house over some woman. Ganesan killed Bhaskaran, who was intoxicated, on the head and then wrapped the body in a plastic sheet and dumped it in the Couvam river.
