According to Total Screen, a French publication focused on the film and television industry. The report indicates that Euro Visual will now be responsible for bringing the world of Final Fantasy IX to life in animated form.
LMel, Koln, Luciola, Théa, Fala and Doc, children of the hero Bibi, are the last black mages of the four continents. The upcoming show is slated to be a 2D animated series geared towards children aged 6 to 13, with each of the thirteen episodes running approximately 22 minutes.
Details about the plot align with details from a leak that surfaced earlier this year. This leak, originating from production materials shared online by former Cyber studios Group employees following the company’s dissolution, suggests the new team is continuing with previously developed concepts for the series.
Currently, final Fantasy IX is available on a wide range of platforms including PS4 (and backward compatible on PS5), Xbox One (and backward compatible on Xbox Series X|S), Nintendo Switch (and backward compatible on Nintendo Switch 2), iOS, Android, Steam, and the Xbox Store for PC.
