The good news is that the grant for the self-employed and small and medium-sized businesses with a turnover of up to NIS 80 million, following the Omicron strain, which includes fixed expenses such as property taxes, was approved by the Knesset plenum in the second and third readings, just before the Knesset was dissolved.
According to the law that was approved and entered in the law book, the grant will be NIS 3,000 up to NIS 600,000 for each business. The grant will be given to businesses affected by the omicron wave in a way that led to a decrease in turnover of over 25% in the months of January-February 2022 compared to January-February 2019.
The amount of the said grant will vary according to the turnover of the dealer’s transactions in the base year.
For small businesses with a turnover of up to NIS 300,000 – the amount of compensation will be NIS 4,350 and up to NIS 9,350 per business.
The amount of the grant varies according to the level of turnover of the business, in groups of NIS 50,000. During the vote, a budget reservation was received, stating that the turnover ceiling for the business, which will allow for the granting of assistance grants according to what is specified in the proposal, will be NIS 80 million instead of NIS 60 million, as initially stated in the Finance Committee.
