The schedule for the 2025 final of the Test Championship has been finalised. The title fight will start on June 11 next year. Before this, however, the venue of the final was finalised. Lord’s, the famous ‘Mecca of cricket’, is the venue for the current season.
Cricket’s highest governing body ICC announced the schedule of the finals of the current cycle on Tuesday (September 3). A reserve day has been kept for the final due to inclement weather. An extra day has been kept on June 16 to get the results.
India and New Zealand played the final of the last Test cycle. The Kiwis won the Test Championship for the first time by defeating India by 8 wickets in that round of the 2021 final. This time, however, they are not in the fight.
In this cycle of the Test Championship, India and Australia are leading the way to the final as the two teams at the top of the table in terms of points percentage. India tops the table with 68.52 percent points. And the rate of points of Australia in second place is 62.50.
New Zealand is third with 50 percent points. Bangladesh is number four with 45.83 percent points. England hosts the final in five, losing 45 points. It is followed by South Africa (38.89), Sri Lanka (33.33), Pakistan (19.05) and West Indies (18.52) respectively.
