Residents of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug and Kamchatka Territory were the first in Russia to come to the polling stations today. Voting on the final day began at 08:00, in Moscow at that time it was September 18, 23:00.

In the Far East, during a three-day voting, in addition to the deputies of the State Duma of the Russian Federation of the VIII convocation, they elect the governor (in the Khabarovsk Territory), members of regional parliaments (in five constituent entities), as well as heads and deputies of municipal bodies of representative and executive power.

Galina Korchuganova, executive director of the Association Council of Municipal Formations of the Jewish Autonomous Region, came to the polling station in Birobidzhan with the whole family.

– I, my husband and daughter always participate in voting. This is indeed a very important and responsible mission. For us, there was no question of whether it was worth coming to the polling station. I feel like a person when I contribute to the development of our country and my native region with my voice. This year, the voting is organized at the highest level, the members of the commissions are always ready to help, explain everything, if something is not clear, she shared.

We will remind, on the first day of voting, the voter turnout in the Far Eastern Federal District exceeded 16 percent. According to its results, in the regions of the Far Eastern Federal District, the voters of the Chukotka Autonomous District and the Jewish Autonomous District showed the greatest activity, it follows from the official data published by the Central Election Commission. So, on September 17, 31.4 percent of residents of Chukotka and 22.8 percent of the Jewish Autonomy came to the sites to fulfill their civic duty. The voter turnout in the Magadan region on the first day was 16.8 percent, in Yakutia – 15.7, in Buryatia – 14.4, in the Sakhalin region – 13.9, in Transbaikalia – 13.1.

On the second day, the Jewish Autonomous Region became the leader in terms of voter turnout: at 20.00 local time on September 18, 49.29 percent of citizens who had the right to vote voted here.

In Chukotka, 45.91 percent of voters came to the polls after two days. Moreover, in the urban district of Egvekinot, the turnout was 66.14 percent, and in the village of Nutepelmen – 100.

In other Far Eastern regions, the results are as follows: in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), 28.81 percent of voters voted in two days, in the Magadan region – 27.79, in the Amur region – 25.67, in the Trans-Baikal Territory – 24.06, in Kamchatka – 23 , 36, in the Sakhalin region – 22.73, in the Primorsky Territory – 21.59, in the Khabarovsk – 21.04 percent.

Observers are closely following the voting process. So, according to the data of the election commission of the Trans-Baikal Territory, a record number of observers work in the region – 3548, of which 599 – from candidates, 2098 – from parties, 851 – from the Public Chamber.

The voting process can be monitored from the Public Observation Centers. For example, in the Sakhalin region, it is located in the historical park “Russia is my history” in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. A video broadcast was organized in the large hall, allowing to control the work of 168 precinct and 20 territorial election commissions. Recording is conducted around the clock, including at night. A special protected line has been allocated.

“Everyone can watch the voting, work with a computer and, if necessary, rewind what was happening at a particular polling station. If necessary, it will be possible to contact experts who will be able to assess what is happening at a particular polling station, – explained the speaker of the regional parliament Andrei Khapochkin.

According to the centers of public observation of elections, voting in the regions of the Far Eastern Federal District is proceeding without significant violations and in compliance with sanitary anticancer norms.

– We were informed that the elections are being held in a friendly atmosphere, and about possible violations. There were isolated signals about unstitched voter lists in the first hours of voting, but all these facts were not confirmed when members of mobile groups visited polling stations, – said the chairman of the Public Chamber of the Khabarovsk Territory, coordinator of the center Galina Kononenko.

According to the head of the Republic of Buryatia, Alexei Tsydenov, how we will live in the next five years depends on our action or inaction.

“Both action and inaction – everything has its consequences, so I urge everyone to come and vote, make their choice,” he turned to his fellow countrymen.

The Far Eastern Federal District has five time zones. An hour after the polling stations opened in Chukotka and Kamchatka, voting will begin in Magadan and Sakhalin regions – at 00:00 Moscow time on September 19. At 01.00 (Moscow time) the Primorsky and Khabarovsk Territories and the Jewish Autonomous Region will join. At 02.00 – the Amur Region and the Trans-Baikal Territory. In the Republic of Buryatia, the sections will begin work at 03.00 Moscow time.

Yakutia is the only region of Russia that lies in three time zones, therefore, depending on the region, voting there starts at 00.00, 01.00 and 02.00 (Moscow time) on September 19.
