Defender Sandesh Jinkan, who left ATK Mohun Bagan in the ISL, joined Bengaluru FC. This was announced on the team’s Twitter account with a Super Sunday Surprise note. Bengaluru’s official Twitter account wrote that Sandesh Jhingan was introduced to the team’s fan base, West Block Blues, during a training session and he will be ours.
The club had earlier informed that Sandesh Jinkan will not be in ATK for the upcoming ISL season. ATK Mohun Bagan had released this through the official Twitter account. Mohun Bagan tweeted thanking Jinkan for his services.
Sandesh Jinkan, who was a Kerala Blasters star until two seasons ago, will reach ATK in 2020. Jinkan, a center back who has been a stronghold of Blasters’ defense for six long years, has a huge fan base in Kerala. Jinkan, who has been with Kerala Blasters since the first season, made his debut in the yellow shirt at the age of 21. An emerging player in the first season, Jinkan captained the Blasters in the fifth season.
The reports that came out at that time were that the financial crisis of the club was the reason why Jinkan, who is one of the highest paid players in the ISL, will not be retained for the 2020 season. Jinkan left Blasters with his contract remaining until 2022. Even today, Jinkan holds the record of being the most bowler for Kerala Blasters.
Jinkan, who came to ATK from Blasters, later left Mohun Bagan and went to Croatia. Jinkan had signed a five-year contract with ATK. But when an offer came from the Croatian club Šibenik, the player reached an agreement with that foreign club. In the contract with ATK, they had made a condition that they would release him if an offer came from European teams. So Jinkan came to play for the Croatian club.
But Jinkan could not hold on for long at the Croatian club. Soon the actor returned to the ISL. Due to injuries and tough competition for the first eleven, the star did not get much chance there. So Jinkan was coming back to Bagan.
