As of next Monday, April 25, the life insurance for 1,060 elements of Ensenada Municipal Public Security will come into force, after nearly five years that these agents did not have that job benefit.
The Procurement Committee of the XXIV City Council issued the ruling for the contracting of said policy to the company General de Seguros SAB, for an amount of 2 million 964 thousand 836 pesos, upon meeting the requirements established in the tender and being considered the best option.
Armando Ayala Robles, municipal president of Ensenada, reported the above and explained that the fixed sum insured for death is 300,000 pesos per element and also has an advance coverage of the sum insured for terminal illness and funeral services.
The first mayor of Ensenada referred that the budget items for contracting this insurance were approved last year and published in the Expenditure Budget for the current fiscal year.

The lack of said benefit and the existing debts for it to a group of thirty relatives of the same number of deceased police officers, had generated various protests and demonstrations in recent months by both active and retired agents.
The dissatisfied have pointed out that although the hiring resolves the lack of this benefit, the life insurance coverage of those agents who died without the municipal government having the coverage of that policy remains to be resolved.
