In the New Delhi budget, the Finance Minister, who completely ignored Kerala, singled out Bihar and Andhra projects. About three-quarters of a lakh crores of projects are sponsored in the budget for both the states. Otherwise, there are many schemes where the allocation is not guaranteed accurately. These two states alone will get about two lakh crore rupees in the current year through various schemes. Otherwise, there will be additional funding for capital investments. Why priority? The support of TDP and JDU is crucial for the BJP to retain the government when it does not have a clear majority. That is why Bihar and Andhra get biased treatment. The interpretation in the budget is that under the name Purvodaya the comprehensive development of the eastern states of Bihar, Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand and Andhra is targeted. Thus, the southern state of Andhra was drawn to the list of eastern states. While Bengal and Jharkhand were named in Purvodaya, only Bihar, Andhra and Odisha were considered in the budget. Projects for Bihar ● Amritsar – New industrial hub in Gaya as part of Kolkata Industrial Corridor ● Patna – Purnia Expressway ● Construction of Buxar – Bhagalpur Expressway ● Support for Bodhgaya, Rajgir, Vaishali and Darbanga (SPAR) Urban Development Projects in Buxar and investment of 26000 crores There are two new Palam lines ● Rs 21,400 crore power project including 2,400 MW power plant at Pirpainti ● New airports, medical colleges and sports infrastructure projects ● Bihar loan applications to be expedited ● Additional assistance for capital investments ● 11,500 crore for 20 irrigation projects currently under construction including Kosi–Mechi link project and other new projects Rs. ● Support for barrages, river pollution reduction and other irrigation projects. ● Funds also for flood compensation ● Survey and inspections to prevent floods due to Kosi river and new irrigation scheme ● Kashi Vishwanath temple trail development model Vishnupad temple in Gaya Mahabodhi temple in Bodh Gaya will develop trails ● Comprehensive development plan for Rajgir ● Make Nalanda tourist destination. Schemes for Andhra Pradesh ● Rs 15000 crore in the current year alone for construction of new capital in Amaravati ● Funding for construction of capital in subsequent years as well. ● Polavaram Irrigation Project with an investment of around fifty thousand crores ● Funds for Koparthi Industrial Center and Orvakal Industrial Center ● Special financial support for infrastructure like railway, roads, water. ● Additional funding for capital investments. ● Special financial assistance for development of backward areas of Rayalaseema, Prakasam and North Coastal Andhra Read on deshabhimani.com
