Financial authorities in Benin: Adidjatou Hassan Zanouvi confirmed DG/Customs

Recently appointed as Acting Director General of Beninese Customs, Adidjatou Hassan Zanouvi has just been confirmed to the position. She thus becomes the very first woman to head this financial agency in Benin.

Appointed interim Director General of Customs on November 13, 2023 by ministerial decree of the Minister of State, Minister of Economy and Finance in charge of cooperation, Romuald Wadagni, Adidjatou Hassan Zanouvi, Chief of Staff of the said ministry is confirmed to the position. A graduate of the Universities of Orléans, Tours and Bordeaux in France, the new Director General of Customs is an accounting auditor and audit manager at Deloitte Paris. She assumed the role of Director General of the African Guarantee Fund for Small and Medium Enterprises from 2018 to 2021 and is to date, Deputy Director of the Cabinet of the Minister of State, Minister of Economy and Finance in charge of cooperation since August 2021. As chief of staff, she is mainly in charge of project financing strategy, resource mobilization, international financing of the development program and projects. The new DG Customs is a senior executive in development finance, resource mobilization, structured financing, project financing, credit guarantee systems, climate finance, SME access to financing and others. She will therefore be able to respond to the challenges of Beninese customs, of which she is taking the reins in the midst of an era of reforms.
