Watan Al-Youm – The Private Hospitals Association discussed ways to help and treat the wounded Sudanese as a result of the events in the Republic, according to what the association’s president, Fawzi Al-Hamouri, said Thursday.

Al-Hamouri said during a meeting in the presence of the Sudanese health attache, Majd al-Din Ahmed al-Imam, and the directors of the member private hospitals, that “the ways of the Jordanian health sector’s contribution to providing health services to the wounded Sudanese were discussed.”

He pointed out that “a complete plan was put forward to implement it in stages and urgently,” especially after a number of hospitals and ambulances were bombed in Sudan, pointing also to the lack of medicines and medical supplies.

He said that the security conditions at the present time do not allow sending Jordanian medical teams to Sudan, but a mechanism will be found to transport the injured from Sudan to Jordan in coordination with officials there, including the Sudanese Ministry of Health.

And Al-Hamouri indicated that the initiatives presented are sufficient to contain part of the injured who suffered from the wounded Sudanese, especially since several private hospitals have expressed their willingness to send necessary medical supplies and medicines, and to receive the wounded and injured Sudanese in Jordanian hospitals, indicating that the Hashemite Charity Organization will be addressed to transfer medical supplies and available medicines. .

In turn, the Sudanese health attache expressed his appreciation to the Private Hospitals Association for this honorable fraternal stance, noting that according to statistics, there are more than 180 dead and 1,800 wounded, while 16 hospitals have been out of service.

For his part, Nael Zaidan, Vice President of the Society, stressed the importance that Jordanian hospitals are fully prepared and ready to receive the injured Sudanese.

Ahmed Al-Ahmad, a member of the Board of Directors of the Society, indicated the need to form a committee to deliver the available medical supplies to Sudan, in addition to listing the names of doctors who are willing to volunteer to provide their medical services to Sudan, expressing readiness to train Sudanese medical personnel.
