As part of the actions carried out by the Provincial Inspection Directorate (DIP) in Artemisa, violations were detected in the Comercializadora Acopio of the Caimito municipality, for which it was decided to apply the Decree 67/22 “Regulation of the Law of Food Sovereignty and Food and Nutrition Security”.
At the time of the inspection, it was found that there were 30 quintals of cabbage and 1 quintal of rotten pumpkin in the warehouse. Said foods were fetid, and were not marketed to the population despite being received on May 26, 2023.
Due to the importance of said violation and in the midst of the current economic context, the DIP verified the violation of the provisions of Decree 67/22, Article 39, subparagraph G “Non-observance or failure to create a measure to reduce food losses and waste during the harvest, post-harvest, processing, marketing and transportation stage.
After the corresponding analysis, it was decided to apply a fine in the amount of $30. 000 to the director of the entity for not creating the corresponding mechanisms for the commercialization of these products.
The Provincial Government of Artemisa rejects such events in Caimitense territory, without any justification given the need to market more quality food to the Cuban family.
