Helsinki ∙ Finland retained its title as the happiest country in the world. Finland topped the World Happiness Report and has held this position for the past six consecutive years. Following Finland, Denmark, Iceland, Israel, Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, Switzerland, Luxembourg and New Zealand are among the top ten countries. Germany’s position is sixteenth. Last year it was ranked 14th. India is ranked 125th behind Nepal, China and Bangladesh. Russia is ranked 70th and Ukraine is ranked 92nd. Afghanistan and Lebanon are the last countries on the list.

The report, a publication of the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network, is based on a global survey of people in more than 150 countries. Countries are ranked in terms of happiness based on average life valuations over the three years from 2020 to 2022.

For the sixth year in a row, Finland has become the happiest country in the world, according to the World Happiness Report ranking based on life assessments from the Gallup World Poll.
