Finland praises the Royal Initiative to promote access of Sahel countries to the Atlantic Ocean
Helsinki – Finland welcomed Morocco’s efforts through various initiatives launched under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, to promote peace, stability and socio-economic development in Africa, in particular the Royal Initiative to facilitate access of Sahel countries to the Atlantic Ocean, as well as the “Atlantic African States Process”.
In a press release sanctioning the meeting, Tuesday in Helsinki, between the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans living abroad, Mr. Nasser Bourita, and his Finnish counterpart, Ms. Elina Valtonen, Finland, elsewhere, underlined the political stability of Morocco and welcomed the reforms undertaken by the Kingdom under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, for a more open and dynamic Moroccan society and economy, notably through the new model development and advanced regionalization.
This international recognition strengthens Morocco’s position as a key player in the region and highlights the enlightened vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to establish the central role of the Kingdom at the continental and international levels.
Finland has, in this sense, recognized the strategic role of Morocco which constitutes a gateway between Africa and Europe and a key player in the EU-Africa partnership in general, as well as its decisive contribution to strengthening regional cooperation and stability, the fight against terrorism and cooperation in the management of cross-border migration.
