While he was on the Racing 92 match sheet against Brive, the Scottish flyhalf did not come into play. And according to Russell, it was expected.

Finn Russell will be in full possession of his means to face the XV of France on Sunday February 26. Yet well present on the substitutes’ bench for Racing 92, the Scottish opener did not play a single minute during his team’s victory over Brive (34-24).

Nothing surprising according to the principal concerned as he said at the microphone of Canal +: “I didn’t do anything, just warm up. I spoke with Laurent Travers before the match, he said to me: ‘if we are in difficulty, you go home. But otherwise, you don’t come in’“. No injury to deplore therefore for one of the essential elements of the XV du Thistle and a nice gesture on the part of the Ile-de-France staff for his player.
