Finnish Parliament Speaker highlights ‘ambitious reforms’ carried out under HM the King’s leadership

In a speech at a reception hosted by the Moroccan Ambassador to Helsinki, Mohamed Achgalou, on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the accession of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to the Throne of His glorious ancestors, Mr. Halla-Aho praised ”the societal reforms implemented in Morocco in the areas of health, education and the Family Code”.

“These reforms, initiated by His Majesty the King, will strengthen the well-being, cohesion, stability and resilience of Moroccan society,” he stressed during this ceremony, which took place in the presence of the 1st Vice-President of the Estonian Parliament, Mr. Toomas Kivimagi, and several personalities from the world of politics, media, culture and art.

Looking back on his working visit to Morocco last May, the Finnish official said he was “impressed by the phenomenal development” in the field of infrastructure, particularly the port of Tangier Med, the largest in the Mediterranean and Africa.

And to add that for Europe, Morocco is “a key partner” in several areas.

On the bilateral level, the Speaker of the Finnish Parliament welcomed “the excellent cooperative relations between the two countries that date back 65 years, during which the two nations have forged a friendly relationship, marked by mutual respect and understanding, deeply rooted in common values, shared goals and common interests.”
