Fiorentina and Atalanta neutralize each other

Atalanta Bergamo, sixth in the Italian championship, went for a 1-1 draw Monday evening on the lawn of Fiorentina, ninth in the standings but undefeated for 14 matches in all competitions.

Bergamo, who opened the scoring through his Dane Joakim Maehle (37th), lost an opportunity to get closer to fourth place, qualifying for the Champions League. Atalanta remain four points behind fourth-placed AC Milan. Arthur Cabral, the Brazilian center-forward from Florence, preserved the invincibility of his team by equalizing in the 56th minute.

Fiorentina have not lost since February 12 and a 1-0 league loss to Juve.
